WD Middle School Exceeds Walk-A-Thon Fundraising Goal

West Delaware Middle School held their first-ever Walk-A-Thon on Wednesday – and surpassed their fundraising goal.

Principal Doug Koerperich says the goal was to raise $4,000 – and they exceeded that by raising more than $6,600!

All the West Delaware middle school students participated in the Walk-A-Thon, with each student walking the track for about thirty minutes. Koerperich estimates their students took more 860,000 steps, covering nearly 430 miles.

Proceeds from Wednesday’s Walk-A-Thon will help fund West Delaware Middle School class trips to such places as Adventureland, Effigy Mounds and ISU Research Farms.
