Saturday Night Storms Produced EF-1 Tornado In Buchanan County

The National Weather Service has determined that there was one tornado touchdown in Buchanan County during the severe weather that swept across eastern Iowa Saturday night.  Officials with the National Weather Service said that an EF-1 tornado touched down southeast of Winthrop at about 9:36. The storm took the roof off of a house and some tree damage was also noted in the area. The Tornado produced winds of 95 miles per hour and on the ground for one tenth of a mile with a width of twenty yards.
