Delaware County’s Maquoketa River Water Trail will be dedicated as Iowa’s newest official water trail this weekend.
The water trail covers 18 river miles, beginning at Backbone State Park and ending at Bailey’s Ford Access. It’s the first water trail that includes a whitewater park and a large area of restored river above the Quaker Mill area.
Saturday’s water trail dedication ceremony will be part of Manchester’s Rhubarb on the River celebration. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will begin at noon at the gazebo next to the Manchester Whitewater Park.
