Dubuque County authorities responded to two accidents in the 5 o’clock hour Monday night.
The first accident happened near Sageville on Highway 52 North at the Heritage Trail overpass around 5 pm. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year old Nicole Soppe of Sherrill was driving northbound on Highway 52 when she lost control of her vehicle and hit the support for the Heritage Trail foot bridge. Soppe was taken to a Dubuque hospital and later airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The second accident occurred less than a half an hour later on Highway 20 at Cottingham Road. The Sheriff’s Office says 20-year old Julie Seeber of Peosta was attempting to enter traffic on Highway 20 from Cottingham Road when she pulled out in front of a vehicle driven by 25-year old Cali Lawler of Peosta. Seeber was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries. Seeber’s passenger, 20-year old Kyra Luketich, and a juvenile passenger in Lawler’s vehicle were taken by private vehicles to the hospital.
