The Linn County Fair is going on this week – and this year, they’re celebrating their 130th anniversary.
The fair kicked off on Wednesday – with good weather this year. Delaney Sturtz was crowned Linn County Fair Queen, with Alexa Gormley crowned Princess. The new royalty has been keeping busy handing out ribbons and trophies at the fair’s livestock shows, which started Thursday. And there’s a busy weekend coming up, with tonight’s grandstand entertainment including bullriding at 7 pm and Lonestar in concert around 9:30 pm. Truck and tractor pulls are going on Saturday, and this Sunday is Military Appreciation Day, so all current and past military members get in for free.
That’s Linn County Fair Manager Heidi Steffen, who says there’s also plenty of free activities you can check out on the fairgrounds over the next few days.
The Linn County Fair runs through Monday in Central City. Admission and parking is free.
