Food service and registration fees are going up at Maquoketa Valley next school year.
The School Board met earlier this week and approved a five-cent increase for all food service prices. That means lunch for students in grades 6 through 12 will now cost $2.55, while students in kindergarten through 5th grade will pay $2.30 for lunch. Student breakfast will go up to $1.70.
A five-dollar increase was also approved for all registration fees, including $75 for student materials fee for kids in 6th through 12th grade, $50 to rent a musical instrument and $30 for a student athletic punch pass.
The Maquoketa Valley School Board also approved several hires and resignations. New hires include Alissa Fairbanks as a 3rd grade teacher and Craig Dunlap as Middle School Boys Basketball coach. And resignations include Joette Orcutt as Elementary Associate and Susan Sevart as high school secretary.
