Teen Moped Driver Killed in Hit-and-Run in Fayette County

A teenage boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Fayette County Thursday night.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called just after 10 pm to a moped accident on Highway 150 a couple miles south of Fayette.

14-year old Kaiden Estling of Maynard was driving his moped southbound when he was struck by another vehicle. Estling lost control of his moped and ended up near the ditch. The other vehicle fled the scene before deputies arrived.

After multiple life-saving attempts, Estling was pronounced dead at the scene.

This hit-and-run accident remains under investigation. Sheriff Marty Fisher is asking that any potential witnesses with a better description or account of what happened to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 563-422-6067.
