The Delaware County Fair is now just a few days away… and last minute preparations are underway as the fair gets ready to kick off its 150th anniversary.
And Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer says that means some special events to celebrate… The Delaware County Fair is inviting former fair board members to serve as this year’s grand marshals in the fair parade, and they’re bringing back former fair royalty for a reunion on Thursday night.
If you know of former fair board members or former fair royalty who have not already been contacted, have them call the fair office for more information.
There will be some new additions to this year’s fair too… with the Big Air ATV Show on Wednesday night, the Clydesdales on display Wednesday through Sunday and the Hot Air Balloon Lift-off and Glow on Wednesday and Thursday.
This year’s Delaware County Fair will also feature concerts by Martina McBride, Cheap Trick Pop Rocks and Jordan Feliz – as well as Motocross races, the Tractor and Truck Pull, Draft Horse Show and Demo Derby.
And there is a change to Monday night’s fair parade route due to street construction, with the parade heading down Sherman Avenue for a few blocks instead of New Street – you can find a map of the parade route on our website at kmch.com. If you’re getting those parade entries ready, Manchester Fire Chief Mike Ryan has a few reminders for you.
The fair will kick off with 4-H and FFA judging on Monday, followed by the fair parade at 7 pm, a special opening ceremony honoring each community in Delaware County and fireworks at dusk.
You can find more information about this year’s Delaware County Fair online at kmch.com… and of course, we’ll be there covering it all throughout the week here on KMCH.
