End of an Era for Beaver’s Lounge

A popular Manchester bar that’s been around for decades will be closing its doors for good this weekend.

Beaver’s Lounge first opened in Colesburg in 1977, started by sisters Linda Thole and Judy Lammers. Two years later, they moved Beaver’s to Manchester in the basement of the building that now houses KMCH, and then in 1985, they relocated to their current location just down the street at the corner of East Main and South Madison Street.

Judy retired in 2015. She passed away this spring, but Linda and Jim Thole continued to run the business. The couple decided earlier this year to retire and put the bar up for sale, with Olive That Deli purchasing the building.

Beaver’s Lounge sold out of food a couple weeks ago and this Saturday, July 7th is the final day for patrons to stop in for a drink. Beaver’s will celebrate the end of an era on Saturday night with live music, drink specials and grilling from the Delaware County Cattlemen.
