A Manchester city council member has announced her resignation.
Connie Behnken has served on the city council for ten and a half years. Her resignation is effective August 1st.
Behnken says in recent weeks, she has found herself at a crossroads trying to juggle personal and professional commitments – which she says led her to the difficult decision to resign.
Behnken served on the City Council At-Large. At their next meeting on July 23rd, the City Council will discuss either appointing someone to fill the remainder of Behnken’s term – which expires at the end of 2019 – or to hold a special election to fill the remainder of her term.
