Motorcyclist Dies after Collision in Greeley

One person has died following a collision in Greeley Wednesday morning.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened shortly before 7 am at the intersection of Highway 38 and Moody Street.

Authorities say a motorcycle driven by 24-year old Benjamin Malone of Greeley was westbound on Moody Street and appeared to be turning left onto Jet Road. As Malone crossed the centerline, his motorcycle struck a pickup truck that was southbound on Highway 38 coming into Greeley. The collision was head-on.

Malone was transported to Regional Medical Center, but died from his injuries.

The pickup truck driver, 64-year old Stephen Lutz of Elkader, was not hurt.
