Donna Jean Welcher, 86, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her residence in Manchester. She was born on January 17, 1932, the daughter of Cecil and Ada (Carpenter) Joy. She grew up in the Waterloo area and was a 1950 graduate of Waterloo East High School.
On September 6, 1952, Donna Jean was united in marriage to Bill Welcher in Waterloo, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. The couple resided in Waterloo.
In 1969, the family moved to Manchester. Donna Jean was District Manager of Avon for many years until her retirement.
Donna Jean enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved caring for her home and dancing.
Survivors include Donna Jean’s husband, Bill of Manchester; her two children, Larry Welcher of Waterloo and Vickie (Mike) Beatty of Manchester; twelve grandchildren, Matt Welcher, Travis Welcher, Brett Welcher, Brad Welcher, Wade Welcher, Mary Jo Welcher, Chad Welcher, Chris Welcher, Jamie Welcher, Tyler Welcher, Tim Beatty, and Mark Beatty; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Donna Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott, in 2000; and two siblings, Gordon Joy and Joan Joy.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the United Methodist Church, Manchester, Iowa, with Reverend Roger White officiating.
Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call one hour before the service on Monday at the church.
Interment: Oakland Cemetery – Manchester, Iowa
