The Delaware County Board of Supervisors heard from a concerned resident at their meeting Monday regarding flooding issues in the Masonville area. Valda Schaul says they’ve lived there for years and the flooding is getting worse, with debris such as cornstalks and fence posts coming in onto their property. Schaul is concerned that farming practices such as tiling could be leading to increased flooding and is working to contact as many agencies as she can to try to get help, including FEMA and Senator Grassley’s office. The Supervisors encouraged her to contact the NRCS as well.
In other news, the County Supervisors approved a bid for the 195th Street Bridge Replacement Project. Taylor Construction will replace the bridge northeast of Manchester for just under 215-thousand dollars.
The Board also set August 6th as the date to receive bids for LP fuel for the Secondary Roads Department and the County Conservation Department.
