The newly-formed Manchester Municipal Band performed their second of two summer concerts Wednesday night at the Tirrill Park Band Shell. Freiburger’s trumpet is the same one played by her grandfather, Don Rhines, whose band the “Night Hawks” played all over Northeast Iowa several years ago:
Organizer and West Delaware Middle School Band Director Jill Burdick said the night also featured the West Delaware Middle School Band:
Burdick was assisted by Maquoketa Valley 2nd year Band Director Travis Ford:
Manchester resident Kathy Moorhouse said she hasn’t played her French horn much since college. She said it was nice to use the band shell for the concert:
The band rehearsed several times through the summer and featured musicians of all ages.
