Manchester Man Dies In Collision

A Manchester man died in a collision on Tuesday.

The accident happened at a rural intersection southeast of Manchester around 11:15 am.

The Iowa State Patrol says 51-year old Jim Koopman was driving his pickup truck westbound on 255th Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a rock crusher being towed by a semi that was northbound on 190th Avenue.

Authorities say Koopman was not wearing his seatbelt. He died at the scene.

The other driver, 32-year old Ross Kuhlman of Earlville, was not hurt.

The accident remains under investigation.
