Behnken Reflects on Time on Manchester City Council

This Friday, August 10th is the deadline to submit nominations for the vacant Manchester City Council seat.

The seat is being left vacant by longtime councilmember Connie Behnken, who announced her resignation last month. It officially went into effect on August 1st.

Behnken says it was a tough decision, but there are some family matters that need her attention right now. She says she’s proud of what the council has been able to accomplish during the ten and a half years she has served.

Behnken wants to thank all the people who have allowed her to represent them over the past decade – with a special thank you to Mayor Milt Kramer, her fellow council members and City staff.

And she has some helpful advice for the next person who takes her seat.

If you are interested in serving the remainder of Behnken’s term – until the end of 2019 – get your nomination in to Mayor Kramer at Manchester City Hall by this Friday. The council and mayor will review the nominations and appoint someone during a special council meeting on August 22nd.
