A special dedication will take place in downtown Manchester later this month to honor Vietnam veterans and give them the welcome home they never got decades ago.
A “Welcome Home” Vietnam Vets of Iowa Wall will be dedicated outside of Grumpy Bill’s on South Franklin Street next Saturday, August 25th at 10 am. The wall will include the names of the 868 Iowans who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
The event will include breakfast sandwiches and coffee from 6 to 9 am, brats and burgers from 10 am until dusk and music from noon until dusk. Army aircraft rides will also be available at the Manchester Airport throughout the day next Friday and Saturday, August 24th and 25th.
