Backbone Friends Hosting Golf Tournament Fundraiser to Improve Park

The Backbone State Park Friends Organization is hosting a golf tournament next weekend to raise money for one of the park’s projects.

Member Fred Kinne says they have a vision for the Trout Hatchery area, which has been closed at Backbone since 1986.

The second part of the project involves renovating the garage into an enclosed picnic shelter.

To raise money for the Backbone State Park project, the Friends Organization has organized a 27-Hole 2-Person Modified Ryder Cup. It will be held at Backbone Country Club next Sunday, August 26th, with the first round starting at 9 am.

Kinne says they are hoping to get twelve teams signed up by this Friday – if they don’t, they’ll probably have to reschedule the tournament for next year.
