The National Weather Service says the tornado that touched down in Jones County on Thursday night was weak and brief.
Their office surveyed the damage on Friday. The tornado has been rated an EF-0 with estimated wind speeds of 75 miles per hour. It touched down west of Oxford Junction and was on the ground for less than a minute.
Firefighters from the Oxford Junction Fire Department saw the tornado touch down at 6:08 pm.
The National Weather Service says the tornado caused damage to shingles and blew a ventilation pipe off a roof.
No injuries were reported.
