Authorities have arrested the driver involved in a stolen vehicle pursuit in Linn County.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year old Michael Woodward of Cedar Rapids was taken into custody Friday after the chase earlier in the day.
Deputies had tried pulling over a white BMW that was leaving Jones County and heading into Linn after Jones County authorities requested help. The BMW, which was stolen out of Cedar Rapids, led authorities on a high-speed chase on County Home Road, but authorities backed off in hopes the driver would slow down. The vehicle drove out of sight, but was later found unoccupied behind a building on Norman Drive.
Woodward faces numerous charges, including Attempting to Elude, Fifth Degree Theft, Interference with Official Acts and Driving While Barred.
