The Dubuque County Legion Post 137 Baseball team was the first Iowa Legion squad to win a game in the American Legion World Series since 1976 on Friday night when they defeated Massachusetts 9-1 after falling in the first round 3-0 to Delaware Thursday morning. The victory was the first ever for a Dubuque County Legion team. After being rained out on Saturday night, the team faced Louisiana Sunday morning and suffered a 3-2 loss. A Delaware win Sunday afternoon eliminated Dubuque County and ended their sensational run that included winning state and regional tournaments and finishing in the top eight of the United States.

The High School Volleyball season officially begins tonight around the state. In the KMCH listening area, East Buchanan, Central City and Alburnett will travel to Lisbon to take part in the Lions tournament.
