A Manchester man has been sentenced to up to fifteen years for leaving his SUV after it fell through the ice at Lake Delhi, with Alex Salow of Delhi inside.
37-year-old Joshua Juengel pled guilty to the charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident back in July. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for vehicular homicide and five years for leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Juengel must serve at least seven years of the 10 year sentence, and the two sentences must be served consecutively.
Authorities had found Juengel’s SUV in the lake on January 8th with Alex Salow’s body inside. He later admitted he was driving the vehicle at the time and got out while it was submerged in the water, leaving Salow at the scene and returning home to Manchester.
Juengel was originally charged with Reckless Driving, Making a False Report, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Homicide by Vehicle.
