Oelwein Schools were put on lockdown Friday – and the man responsible for the threat was taken into custody Monday morning.
The schools were locked down after they were notified of an incident on the southwest side of Oelwein in which authorities were looking for a suspect possibly armed who fled on foot.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says a three-day manhunt involving multiple agencies ensued.
The suspect, 28-year old Emilio Torres of Oelwein, turned himself into the Sheriff without incident Monday morning.
He is being held without bond in the Fayette County Jail on several warrants, including Domestic Abuse Assault.
