The Delaware County Board of Supervisors met Monday afternoon.
The Board heard a request from Jim Willey with the Delaware County Roads to Trails ATV/UTV Club. The Club is proposing two changes to the County’s ATV/UTV Ordinance – allowing ATV/UTV use on Level B roads when use would not damage roads, and allowing ATV/UTV use after sunset. The Club is also requesting that out-of-county visitors can follow the equipment requirements from their own county or DNR. Supervisor Jeff Madlom says he would be concerned about allowing visitors to not follow the County’s requirements, but it’s all something the County Supervisors will discuss.
The County also held a public hearing on a master matrix evaluation for a confined feeding construction application – it’s for MAP Pork LLC south of Masonville in Section 18 of Prairie Township. It would involve the addition of 992 animal units, with a covered manure pit. The Supervisors visited the site and talked with the owners about ways to address odor control as a courtesy to their neighbors to the north and west of the property. The Board will send a letter of recommendation to the DNR.
And Delaware County has approved a contract with Top Grade Excavating for the work on Phase Two of the Quaker Mill Dam Project. The contract totals just over 691-thousand dollars, with a completion date of June 30th.
