Authorities were called to investigate a bomb threat at the Linn County Courthouse on Wednesday.
Shortly after 1 pm, Cedar Rapids Police Department Communications and the Linn County Public Defender’s Office received calls stating a bomb was in the courthouse and it would go off at 2 pm. ‘
With two courthouses in Linn County, law enforcement was sent to both buildings. Both buildings were closed to the public as authorities searched inside and outside the facilities. No suspicious packages were found and the buildings were re-opened shortly after 2 pm.
The incident remains under investigation.
