Haas Poker Run/Remembrance Ride Raises Suicide Awareness

The Haas Poker Run/Remembrance Ride will be taking place this weekend, starting and ending in Manchester with stops in several local towns.

The ride supports suicide awareness, with all proceeds donated to Foundation 2, a non-profit crisis service agency.

That’s Jessica Copley from Foundation 2, who says their Mobile Crisis Outreach is available to any eastern Iowa resident suffering from a crisis.

Copley will briefly speak prior to the start of the Haas Poker Run/Remembrance Ride on Saturday at Captain and Tenille’s Sports Bar and Grill in Manchester. The ride leaves at 10 am and will travel to Center Point, Palo, Vinton and Quasqueton before coming back to Manchester. The cost is 10 dollars for each biker (or 15 dollars per couple) with bus riders costing ten dollars per person – cars are welcome too – and the Haas family is choosing to donate the proceeds to Foundation 2 to help others who may be suffering.

Registration starts at 8:30 am Saturday. For shirt orders, donations or bus reservations, call Pam Haas at 608-1962.
