Monday’s flash flooding in Manchester surrounded West Delaware High School, along with several of its facilities.
Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says it took them by surprise.
Water came all the way up around the high school, but Rickey says fortunately, it really didn’t cause any damage to their buildings.
Now, they’re focusing on what may lie ahead, with the chance for more heavy rain as we head through mid-October. Rickey says they held an emergency management meeting on Wednesday afternoon with internal school staff and buildings and grounds staff so they’re prepared if it happens again.
