Hot Rods And Harleys Draws Great Crowd Despite Rain

The rain didn’t keep people from enjoying the 5th annual Hot Rods and Harleys Car and Motorcycle Show in Hopkinton on Sunday.  In addition to the cool vehicles there were several other activities to enjoy including the Iowa History 101 Mobile Museum:

That’s Paul O’Connell from the Iowa History Museum.  The food was also a big highlight of the day, including the Hopkinton Lions Club “Famous Tenderloins”.  Doug Melchert from the Lions Club says the car show is just one of the many events they put on throughout the year:

Of course there were several cars and trucks…and even a few motorcycles showed up despite rain.  Lee Schulte made the trip from Norway, Iowa with his 55 Chevy that he bought in 1974, that sports some original 1955 license plates:

Organizer Steve Davis estimate there were around 300 vehicles on display.  You can find several photos of the event at kmch.com.
