Delaware County Celebrating National 4-H Week

Delaware County is celebrating National 4-H Week this week.

4-H Youth Coordinator Kenzie Griffin says they’re celebrating in several ways, with one of the activities involving a hay bale competition.

Griffin says Delaware County is also putting out a 4-H Photo Challenge – each day this week, there is a different challenge for you to post your 4-H pride on Facebook. And there’s also a Scavenger Hunt going on around Delaware County to celebrate 4-H Week.

4-H members are encouraged to wear their green 4-H shirts to school today – and be sure to use the hashtag DelCo4H when posting any 4-H memories or photos.

Last year, just over 400 kids participated in 4-H, along with over 40 Clover Kids. Griffin says any boy or girl in 4th through 12th grade can join 4-H and now is a great time to join.

For more information on joining 4-H or to find out what 4-H is all about, contact Kenzie at the Delaware County Extension Office at 927-4201.
