Walk-in Flu Shot Clinics Offered Around Delaware County

Flu shot clinics have started in Delaware County.

Health officials encourage you to get vaccinated every year because the flu virus is always changing. Anyone can get the flu, but adults 65 and older, children, pregnant women and those with chronic health issues are most at risk.

RMC immunization nurses Shirley Cole and Shirley Fletcher say contrary to what some people think, the flu shot will NOT give you the flu.

Walk-in flu shot clinics were held earlier this week at Delhi United Methodist Church and Greeley Commercial Club, as well as the Dundee Fire Station/Community Club and Earlville United Parish. You’ll have another chance to stop in for a flu shot on Thursday at the Delaware County Senior Center in Manchester from 10 to 11:30 am and the Colesburg Community Center next Tuesday, October 16th from 10 to 11:30 too.

Regional Family Health in Manchester is also hosting walk-in flu shot clinics each Saturday in October from 8 am to 1 pm.

The cost of a flu shot is 35 dollars – which is covered by insurance in some cases. And those who present their Medicare card can get their flu shot for free.
