RMC Patients Benefiting from New 3-D Mammography Unit

Patients at Regional Medical Center in Manchester have benefited this year from an important piece of new equipment.

A new 3-D Mammography unit was installed in January. Mammographic technologist Jody Kerns says the new technology has been incredible.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Statistics show women who have regular mammograms are more likely to have breast cancer found early – they’re also less likely to need aggressive treatment and more likely to be cured.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Most of us have been touched personally by the disease – and that’s a big reason why local communities have partnered with RMC to help support breast cancer patients.

To schedule your mammogram, contact your local provider or call RMC’s radiology department with any questions at 927-7338.
