West Delaware Observing Red Ribbon Week

West Delaware is among many schools across the country acknowledging Red Ribbon Week this week.

Sophomore Ian Rogers is a member of West Delaware’s Teens Against Drugs and Alcohol Coalition.

Supporters of the cause wear red ribbons, a symbol that was started by parents and kids across the country in memory of a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent who was killed by drug cartel while working in Mexico in 1985. Red Ribbon Week became official a short time later in 1988 – and has been observed every year since for the past thirty years.
