The body of a missing boater has been found on the Mississippi River.
A 911 caller reported the body on Thursday afternoon. It was recovered from Sand Cut on the Wisconsin side of the river downstream from Guttenberg.
An autopsy has confirmed the body is that of 56-year old John Roe of Burlington, Wisconsin. Officials say he died from accidental drowning.
Roe was reported missing earlier this month after he was believed to be out boating by himself. Firefighters responded to a call of an empty boat spinning in circles in the main channel north of the Cassville Ferry Landing. Investigators believe Roe likely fell out of the boat and was not wearing a personal floatation device.
