The Maquoketa Valley School Board met Monday night, holding a public hearing on an early start date for next school year.
That’s Superintendent Doug Tuetken, who says the board has given the okay to request the earliest start date as allowed by law. The Maquoketa Valley School District also certified enrollment data last week, reporting an increase of 27 students this school year. And several staff changes were approved, including the resignation of Kendra Whitman as Head High School Softball Coach and the employment of Samantha Kruse as part-time 6th grade teacher. Tuetken says next month, the Maquoketa Valley School Board will be talking more about the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy.
Next month, Tuetken will also bring an updated Early Separation package to the school board for approval.
