Several local law enforcement agencies participated in the National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, giving local residents the chance to drop off unused, unwanted and expired prescription and non-prescription drugs.
Residents brought in 38 pounds of drugs to Brehme Drug in Manchester, where the Manchester Police Department was on hand collecting the medications.
And over 550 pounds were collected by the Dubuque Drug Task Force at the Sam’s Club in Dubuque.
The items collected will be incinerated at a later date.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone that there is a permanent drop-off box located in front of their office in Manchester. Drugs can be dropped off there at any time.
