Veterans Day was yesterday, and since the holiday fell on a Sunday, many communities are recognizing the day today with services honoring the men and women who served our country.
Larry Tibbott says the public is welcome to join them at several services today in Manchester.
The service at St. Mary’s School starts at 12:30 pm. And the public can join them for lunch at the Legion, with a raffle being held today too.
Raffle tickets are 6 for five dollars.
Today in Earlville, the Legion will hold a Veterans Day service at 10:30 am at the school gym in Earlville. All veterans are invited to a chili lunch afterwards at the Earlville Community Center. The Earlville Legion will also hold a Veterans Day observance at the Ellen Kennedy Center in Dyersville at 1:30 pm.
And yesterday in New Vienna, a dedication was held for the community’s new veterans memorial.
