One person was arrested after a high-speed chase in Dubuque County early Wednesday morning.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says they tried stopping a vehicle for speeding on Highway 61 Northbound near Cycle Club Lane. The vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued at about 90 miles per hour.
The vehicle continued to lead authorities on a pursuit around Dubuque’s west side, the Loras Boulevard area and into downtown Dubuque. It then continued south on Highway 52 into Jackson County. The vehicle then fled back towards Key West, where stopsticks were deployed. The vehicle struck the stopsticks and the chase came to an end on Military Road at Highway 151.
The driver, 30-year old Wesley Brundage of Maquoketa, was arrested on several charges. The vehicle he was driving was reported stolen from Maquoketa and authorities say his driving privileges were also found to be barred in the state of Iowa. He was also found with drug paraphernalia.
