The Manchester Rotary and Manchester Chamber hosted their annual Elected Officials Luncheon yesterday at Fireside Pub and Steakhouse, giving the community a chance to hear what issues are facing elected officials as they get ready to head into the new year.
And mental health was a topic brought up on the state, county and local levels.
Republican State Senator Dan Zumbach of Ryan:
Delaware County Supervisor Shirley Helmrichs says there’s a lot of mental health discussion on the county level right now, too.
Mental health is also an issue local school boards are dealing with. Donna Kunde is 25-year member of the Maquoketa Valley School Board. She say when the new mental health plan was developed in the State of Iowa, kids were not included in it… and they still aren’t.
City council members and hospital board members were among those also at the Elected Official Luncheon on Tuesday.
