In Calmar: The class 2A 2nd ranked West Delaware wrestling team had three champions and won the South Winneshiek Invitational as they were 50 points better than top ranked in class 1A Denver as the Hawks finished with 254 points while Denver ended with 204. The three champions for the Hawks were freshman Jadyn Peyton at 138 pounds, senior Mithchel Mangold at 152, and junior Jack Neuhaus at 182 pounds. For complete results click HERE.
In Stanwood: North Linn had three champions and had all six of their wrestlers place in the top three on their way to a 2nd place team finish at the North Cedar tournament. Blaine Baumgartner and Curtis Schott won titles at 126 and 132 pounds, Dawson Sanderson finished 3rd at 145, Brady Henderson claimed the 152 pound title, Austin West was runner-up at 160, and Quinton Rechkemmer won the 182 pound title. In Parkersburg: Maquoketa Valley had three place winners and finished in 12th place at the Keith Vry Invitational at Aplington Parkersburg High School. In Mount Vernon: Beckman, Cascade, and East Buchanan competed at the Mount Vernon Invitational. Cascade finished in 8th place and were led by Aidan Noonan who won the 113 pound title. Beckman finished in 9th place and had two wrestlers advance to the finals but finish 2nd as Grant Hoeger was runner-up at 145 pounds, and Owen Grover took the silver medal at 195 pounds. In Oelwein: Ed-Co and Starmont finished in 5th and 6th place in the Oelwein Invitational as Kal Hoeger went 5-0 for Ed-Co to win the 132 pound title. Starmont was led by Bowen Munger who also went 5-0 on his way to the title at 126 pounds. For complete results click HERE.
In Maquoketa: Anamosa finished in 5th place at the Zimmerman Invitational in Maquoketa as all six wrestlers placed 3rd place or higher as Mason Brown at 170 and Cameron Hanson at 195 finished in 3rd place. 106 pounder Gage Engelbart and heavyweight Connor Andersen finished as runner-ups, and Alex Casey at 145 pounds and Nathan Keating at 160 pounds won titles for the Blue Raiders.
