In Waterloo: West Delaware finished 2nd at the Battle of Waterloo dual meet tournament as they went 5-1 on Friday and Saturday. The Hawks made it into the championship bracket with wins on Friday over Wapsie Valley, Lake Mills, and Davenport Assumption. In the championship bracket on Saturday they opened with a 55-12 win over West Des Moines Valley followed by a 27-25 win over class 1A top ranked Don Bosco, before falling 34-23 in the final dual against Waverly-Shell Rock. Western Dubuque finished 2nd in the 2nd place pool on Saturday as they defeated Cedar Falls 40-28, and Davenport Assumption 39-31 with their lone loss Saturday coming to Denver 43-33. Independence went 3-0 on Saturday as they won the 6th place pool as the Mustangs defeated Iowa City High 45-25, Clear Lake 43-27, and Indianola 43-27. For complete results click HERE.
In Troy Mills: Beckman senior Owen Grover won the 195 pound title on as the Blazers finished 3rd at the North Linn Invitational as they finished behind Center Point-Urbana and North Fayette Valley. The host Lynx finished in 6th place and had two champions in Heath Moyer at 132 pounds and Brady Henderson at 152 pounds. Maquoketa Valley finished in 13th place. For complete results click HERE.
In Arlington: East Buchanan finished in 3rd place at the Doug Guilford tournament at Starmont high school as the Buccaneers were led by two champions on the day as AJ Kremer won the 120 pound title and TJ Lau won the title at 138 pounds. Monticello finished in 4th place with three champions in Mark Sunlin at 106, Kain Luensman at 132, and Chase Luensman at 145 pounds. In Cedar Rapids: Anamosa finished in 5th place at the Doug Phillipp Duals at Xavier high school going 1-4 on the day as they defeated Marion, while their losses came to Xavier, West Liberty, Dubuque Hempstead, and Alburnett. For complete results click HERE.
In Guttenburg: Ed-Co and Cascade wrestled Friday at the Clayton Ridge duals. Ed-Co went 3-2 with wins over Central Elkader, Clayton Ridge, and Postville. Cascade went 4-1 with wins over Ed-Co, Central Elkader, Clayton Ridge, and Postville their only loss coming to Bellevue.
