Dyersville Police investigated a suspicious package over the weekend.
Police Chief Brent Schroeder says around 1:30 pm Sunday, a Delaware County resident arrived at the police department with a suspicious package that was put into their mailbox.
A police officer took the package and placed it on the front sidewalk in front of Dyersville City Hall. The Dyersville Fire Department was notified and an area around the package was cordoned off as a precaution. The State Fire Marshall’s Office was also contacted.
The Fire Marshall was able to determine that the package was not hazardous and did not pose a threat. The area was cleared around 4 pm.
