HS Wrestling: Saturday 1.12 Results

Another Saturday of high school wrestling tournaments is in the books and here is a rundown of the results.

In Perry: West Delaware made their inaugural trip to the Perry Invitational and the Hawks came home as champions with three individual champions and a 74.5 point win over second place Sergeant Bluff-Luton as they finished with 271 points. The Hawks had seven finalists on Saturday as Mitchel Mangold defeated top ranked in class 2A Easton Graff of Sergeant Bluff-Luton as he rode out Graff for 30 seconds in the ultimate tie breaker to win the 152 pound title. Wyatt Voelker picked up a 16-1 technical fall over top seeded Luke Woosley of Carroll to claim the 170 pound crown, and first period take-down by Jack Neuhaus stood up as he defeated Ethan Reed of Carlisle 3-2 to win the title at 182 pounds. In Cascade: Western Dubuque finished in 2nd place at the Cascade invitational as they were 39 points behind Union LaPorte City as the Bobcats were led by three champions in Ryker Kurimski at 160, Jake Hosch at 170, and Devin Ludwig at 182 pounds. Beckman finished 3rd with Owen Grover winning the 195 pound title for the Blazers. Maquoketa Valley finished in 7th place and were led by Tim Harmon who finished 3rd at 152 pounds, and Cascade finished in 9th and had one champion in Aidan Noonan who won the 113 pounds title. In Osage: Independence went 2-3 in the Osage duals as the Mustangs’ wins came over Clear Lake and Dike-New Hartford as they lost to Humboldt, Kasson-Mantorville MN, and Osage. For complete results click HERE.

In Monona: Anamosa 138 pounder Mitchell Engelbart was a runner-up as he led the Blue Raiders to a 5th place finish at the MFL MarMac Invitational. Starmont finished in 8th place and were led by Bowen Munger as he finished in 3rd place at 126 pounds. For complete results click HERE.

In Marion: Monticello finished 4th at the Loyd Shaffer Invitational at Marion high school as the Panthers had three champions in Kain Luensman at 126 pounds, Chase Luensman at 145, and Lake Stahlberg at 220 pounds. North Linn finished 9th and had two champs as Brady Henderson at 152 and Quinton Rechkemmer at 182 pounds both won titles for the Lynx. For complete results click HERE.

In Wayland: Taylor Fox was East Buchanan’s lone champion as he won the heavyweight title as the Buccaneers finished 9th at the Waco Warrior Invitational. For complete results click HERE.
