Two people were injured in separate collisions involving snowplows over the weekend.

The first accident happened around 1:30 pm Saturday south of Central City on Highway 13 in the area of Burnett Station. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says a southbound vehicle ran into the back of an Iowa DOT plow truck. The driver, 48-year old Joey Dreismeier of Central City, was not hurt, but a passenger, 40-year old Mildred McCoy of Central City, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the plow truck, 37-year old Samuel Stoll of Monticello, was not injured.

The second accident happened around 3:30 pm Saturday in the Dyersville area along Highway 20 and Sandstone Lane. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says an Iowa DOT snow plow was clearing snow along the shoulder of Highway 20 when it was rear-ended by an eastbound vehicle that had lost control on the snow-covered highway. The driver of that vehicle was transported to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque and then to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with life-threatening injuries. The driver’s name has not yet been released. The accident remains under investigation.
