Delaware Co. Public Health Urges Safety Precautions During Sub-Zero Temps

Health officials are urging you to take precautions to keep yourself safe in this dangerously cold weather.

Delaware County Public Health Manager Delma Hardin says stay home if you can.

In these sub-zero temperatures and wind chills, frostbite can happen in five to ten minutes. So Hardin says if you’ve been outside, watch for areas of frostbite and hypothermia.

Schools were closed once again Wednesday, with some announcing closures already for Thursday. And numerous businesses and organizations closed for the day as well in an effort to keep employees and patrons safe. You can find the latest list of closings and cancellations online at kmch.com.
