Voters in the Maquoketa Valley and Ed-Co School Districts are heading to the polls today.
Maquoketa Valley Superintendent Doug Tuetken says they’re asking for an additional 33 cents in the district’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy so they can continue with renovation projects.
Tuetken says at this time, they do NOT anticipate this to lead to an increase in school property taxes.
Meanwhile in the Ed-Co School District, Superintendent Rob Busch says they’re asking voters to approve a Physical Plant and Equipment Levy of one-dollar and 34-cents.
The money from the PPEL levy will help Ed-Co pay expenses the general fund can’t cover.
Polls will be open today from noon to 8 pm. Ed-Co voters will be headed to the Colesburg Community Center and St. Mark’s Parish Center in Edgewood, while Maquoketa Valley voters will go to St. John’s Parish Hall in Delhi.
