A Manchester man was arrested after assaulting a woman and a police officer.
Manchester Police and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department were called to 420 South Tama Street for a disturbance around 2 am last Saturday.
According to Manchester Police, 36-year old Joshua Meister of Manchester allegedly took a woman’s purse and then refused to let her leave his apartment. The woman was eventually able to get away from Meister and ran to a family member’s house. Meister then tried forcefully entering the home, causing damage to the door.
When officers tried taking Meister into custody, he struck an officer.
Meister was arrested and transported to the Delaware County Jail. He faces several charges, including Assault, False Imprisonment, Assault on a Peace Officer, Criminal Mischief and Interference with Official Acts.
