Driver Clocked at 96 MPH on Icy Highway Near Manchester

The Iowa State Patrol is warning drivers to SLOW DOWN in this winter weather.

Trooper Jon Stickney posted to Twitter on Thursday afternoon that he had pulled over a driver for going 96 miles an hour on Highway 20 near Manchester – more than 30 miles over the posted speed limit. The highway was completely covered with snow and ice at the time – making his actions even more dangerous and irresponsible.

Stickney says it was the fastest driving he has ever seen in twenty years in those kinds of road conditions.

The driver, who was not named, will face a fine of nearly $250.
