The Delaware County Board of Supervisors held a couple public hearings at their meeting on Tuesday.
The Board’s first public hearing was on the proposed construction of a confinement feeding operation at the home site of Jason Domeyer east of Earlville along Old Highway 20. There is no new construction involved – Domeyer would like to convert three existing swine farrowing/gestating confinement buildings into swine finisher confinement buildings. Once finished, the confinement operation will hold 36-hundred head of swine finishers.
No one commented against the plans. The Board will send its recommendations in favor of the project to the Iowa DNR.
The second public hearing held by the County on Tuesday was in regards to a proposed vacation of unused county right-of-way. The property is along 317th Avenue north of Sand Springs, owned by Dana and Catherine Picray. The Board approved vacating the right-of-way land, with no one speaking against it.
