Dyersville is making plans for their annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
They’ll be celebrating the holiday on Saturday, March 16th, with the day kicking off with the 10 am Gaelic Gallop. The 8K or 2 mile run/walk will start at St. Francis Xavier School, with the Leprechaun Leap for kids 6 and under starting at 9:30 am. Check out totalfitnessdyersville.com for registration and details.
If you’re not a runner or walker – and like to ride your bicycle – you can participate in Ride the Shamrock. The ride will start in downtown Dyersville at 11 am and travel 13 miles to Farley.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 1:30 pm, beginning at the Basilica and taking its usual route downtown. Parade entries are encouraged – trophies and Chamber Dollars will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Irish-themed floats and costumes. You can find parade registration forms online at dyersville.org. To keep the parade moving, there will be a limit of four vehicles per business or organization.
And there will be lots of afternoon and evening activities and bands at establishments around Dyersville, including Dyersville Commercial Club Park.
Be sure to tune in to our “Guest of the Day” segments on KMCH during the week of St. Patty’s Day to hear more about the festivities.
