Another storm system will make its way through the area this weekend, with a wide variety of precipitation expected to impact eastern Iowa.
The storm will start off as freezing rain late Friday night into early Saturday, then change over to all rain Saturday during the day and then transition over to snow late Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ryan says Saturday’s rainfall is something residents should keep an eye on.
The National Weather Service says quickly rising rivers and ice jams are also possible with Saturday’s rainfall.
The winds will also be strong late Saturday night into Sunday, with gusts possibly exceeding 50 miles per hour. When combined with the freshly-fallen snow, those winds could lead to hazardous conditions of slick roads and reduced visibilities. The National Weather Service says power outages are also a possibility on Sunday.
